Short explanations of SOCpedia features, roles, and terms.
Community is a SOCpedia membership status. It is separate from ordinary registration and enables collaborative features such as creating materials and opening Community-only content. The status is provided after community participation is confirmed.
Community is a platform-wide membership status. A group is a specific set of users for collaboration or targeted access. The group author can add any registered user with an active account. A group-bound material is available to its author and group members with suitable permissions; Community status alone is not sufficient.
Public is available to everyone. Authenticated requires an account. Community is intended for Community members. Some materials may be additionally restricted by specific permissions. Assigning a group also narrows the audience.
Posts are used for articles and practical notes. The library contains books, brochures, reports, conference materials, and translations. Timeline describes event sequences and may contain imported events for analysis. News combines editorial publications with connected external sources.
A category provides the main topic and structure. Tags describe more specific technologies, products, and scenarios and support filtering. Material forms select existing shared tags; authorized users create new tags separately.
Your profile defines a primary language and additional visible languages. The interface and content selection use these settings. When a current-language version is unavailable, a section may show another available version.
Read news can be hidden for signed-in users. This is controlled in news-resource preferences.
A label indicates that the displayed language version was generated or translated with AI. It helps readers understand the origin of the content.
